once its online, there is always a chance that it can be leaked. and once it's leaked there is always a chance that someone can get a hold of it, and once that happens, there is always a chance that the person can crack it open.
yes, encryption can be so powerful that brute forcing it can take years or even centuries. but i still think that the best safe keeping, is offline.
